Boeing's AirLaunch is delivered to its predetermined altitude for an early morning launch. The AirLaunch system, being developed by Boeing and Thiokol, will provide the nation with a responsive launch-on-demand system for placing payloads into orbit. The system is a three-stage expendable solid-propellant launch vehicle capable of placing over 7,000 pounds into low Earth orbit at a moments notice.
