Thiokol Corporation-propelled Hughes AGM-65 Maverick air-to-surface missiles arm a U.S. Air Force A-10A Thunderbolt II loaded for a maximum threat anti-armor mission. The Maverick is designed for attacks against pinpoint targets such as tanks or columns of vehicles.

Artist's Note: The caption reflects the 1986 time frame. Now wearing overall gray camouflage, the A-10/OA-10 is expected to be in the USAF inventory as a tank killer into the 2020s.
