The
LUU-4B is an aircraft-deployed search and rescue flare. The flare is
used aboard a variety of U. S. military aircraft. A longer burning version,
the LUU-2B/B Illumination Flare
is used by over 30 foreign countries for aircraft-deployed illumination. Many of the ATK Thiokol paintings are available as high quality lithographs through ATK Thiokol Propulsion, MS PUBS, PO Box 707, Brigham City, Utah 84302. While not normally available to the general public, the prints are available to military units, aerospace organizations and industry representatives.
