The
M-257 Standoff Illuminating Flare is a standard warhead for the Hydra-70
(70mm) rocket system. It provides battlefield illumination at standoff
distances from the target area. The M-257 is deployed by a variety of
military aircraft including the AH-1S
Cobra.
